 "Hurrumph! These were aweful." 2010-05-25
By Sol Gibson (Scotland)
If I had to use one word to describe the CX300II headphones that word would be PISH. Dont buy these CX300II headphones, buy the cheaper CX300's which are excellent value for money as they sound far superior. On the sound cancelling more expensive model, there is a major flaw. I call it body noise, put your fingers in your ears and listen, now try walking, chewing, moving around, breathing, loud huh? Useless.

I dunno why; but the cheaper CX300's dont have this problem, maybe its cos there is some background noise leaking through or they dont isolate your ears so much but with this product it is aweful. I bought theCX300II's thinking, I've tried CX300's, these must be even better....they aint. When you are stationary they sound exactly the same as the CX300 but with greater heavy breathing, chewing, swallowing, farting body noises amplified directly to your ears.

I have to say one final design flaw was the cable jack. Yes it is more durable than the CX300 jack, its gold, but look how far it sticks out from my MP3 player...not tidy, and not pocket friendly. BOOOO!

I'm sorry Sennheiser, till now every product I have bought has been very high quality and great value. But these were a total let down and I have went back to using my old CX300's.

"Good sound, but not perfect" 2010-05-25
By Mr. M. WILLIAMS-JONES (London)
The sound is good, but when wearing them, I find I can hear a scratching sound whenever the wire rubs against my jacket, or I can hear my footsteps when I'm walking around. Maybe they're just a bit too isolated!

On the other hand, they do block out a lot of surrounding noise, and make decent earplugs even without any music on.

 "Sennheiser CX300 II - Thoughts ......" 2010-05-24
By P. Brown (Devon)
Bought these as the original iPod Classic phones fall out of my ears. Apple shop recommended these. First off, sound is much better that originals due to the phones going into the ear canal. More bass and more detail in sound. The wires are the thinnest things I have seen and I can see that if you give them a good tug, they may come away from the phones. I am careful so should not be a problem. When phones are worn but listening to very quiet music, you can hear the wires rubbing against your clothes, or flick the wire by accident and you can hear it, but that is due to being in the ear canal, everything is magnified. Asymmetrical cable is a marmite thing.....love it or hate it. It is quite a long cable so not a major issue so far, but I prefer symmetrical really.

Overall I am really pleased, especially as Apple shop wanted £39.99 and I got these for under £15 and never had to leave my chair.

 "Not built to last" 2010-05-18
By Mr. Andrew J. Child (London, UK)
Once again I have bought a pair of sensheiser in-ear headphones which have failed to last 12 months...sound seems to go in one ear or other after a while. Given the fairly high price of these headphones compared to competitor products this is extremely poor. Don't think I'll take the risk again, despite the excellent sound quality when all is working

 "Broke after a week" 2010-05-17
By Gregory Carter
I take excellent care of my electronics, but these proved just too fragile! The right ear piece stopped working after a week's worth of light use.
