I ordered this because it looked and sounded similar to my last MP3 which is sadly no longer working. However when I got this one it was different in one (to me) very important way - you cannot skip through folders (albums) to find the one you want and then play it, you have to go through track after track after track..... I store a lot of music on my MP3 and to go through the tracks to find the start of an album I wanted to listen to wasted too much time and was really annoying. In all other respects it seemed fine but it just wasn't for me so I sent it back - sorry.

This is a good cheap MP3 player, and I do like the idea of a mini control stick to alter the volume and skip between tracks, but it has a habit of suddenly freezing and resetting itself.

First one sent failed disappointingly after about 2 weeks with an input/output error. Simply froze while playing and lost the majority of music put on to it. Amazon have been great regarding replacement, even though circumstances meant a return could not take place within the month of purchase date. Replacement seems fine for the time being.

Have been using this one for about 2-3 month now and no problem.
Sound quality is very good;
8GB capacity allows me to have most of my music on a single device;
Works for quit a long time from a rechargeable 800 ma NiMH (I am using Instant rechargeables). Did not time it but about 10hrs probably.
Saying that I am mostly using it in-car (using audio cable, not USB) - so I can set volume to 24-25 out of 32 which is easier on battery.
Copying files by simple drag-drop in Windows (no protection as far as I can see)
The only 2 reasons it is not a 5 are
1)in direct comparison with Sony 2GB(!) MP3 of similar price I find that joystick interface and general programming of the interface is a bit clumsier then Sony's.
For example after navigating folders to one you want one needs to push on joystick (king of mouse-click) to start playing a song you are on. The click sometimes makes your selection jump to another option before click happens (which happens to be delete song - which is OK as it won't delete immediately).
Easy to get used to though.
2)Sony has internal rechargeable Li-Ion which charges from USB which is very convenient if you use computer every day anyway. Disadvantage of Sony is that after 2-3 years Li-Ion may lose capacity and you'd have to throw your player away.

I wanted this to go running with, but it turns out to turn itself off if it gets jerked aroound at all (i.e in a poicket when running), so pretty much useless to me. This may be fault specific to my one, but even so pretty rubbish
