"At last!!! A great pair of headphones for my IPOD." 2010-07-20
By Andrew S. Finel (Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, UK)
Firstly I will say that I like the pods that came with my IPOD Nano. The sound of the pods are good and clear the trouble is they are always falling out. I have tried several alternatives, most of them a real let down. These KOSS KSC75 are brilliant and so comfortable. They clip over your ears and STAY ON. You don't notice they are there. I have done an hour on the treadmill and for the first time ever did not chuck them off after 10 minutes. The sound is very good, clear like the pods but with a much fuller sound. There is just enough bass and treble to make the sound rich. So many others (including the porta things) have too much bass which makes the sound very woolly. For your information I have listed below the other headphones I have tried, none of them come up to this standard or even the standard of the pods. Most are more expensive than the KOSS KSC75.

Sennheiser PMX80Sport Eco - average sound and painfull

JVC - HA-F140-AE-in ear gumy - fit no better than pods and the sound is tinny.

KOSS Portapro - Too much bass making the sound very very woolly

Sennheiser PX100 - These are the best of the bunch once broken in, reasonable sound though a little muffled.

Sennheiser HD280pro closed - very average sound for the price

Sennhiser CX300 - ear canal - sound not great and far too enclosed.

Sony MDR-G72 - comfortable but poor sound

The KOSS KSC75 have now been on my ears 6 hours and absolutely NO PAIN.

"Good replacement 'fones for your PortaPro ! !" 2010-06-19
By One Love (GLASGOW, SCOTLAND)
My PortaPro cable died, so took these, removed the back covers and fitted them straight to the PortaPro head-set. They seem to be the same, SO now I have a hybrid PortaPro KSC-75.

I'm more of a fan of the PortaPro than these clip ons, but for this amount of money you are getting AMAZING VALUE FOR MONEY &&&& SOUND!!!!!!

Crystal Clear sound and Perfect Bass - Weight.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

"Great value but not a great fit" 2010-06-17
By E. Harrington (Cork, Ireland)
The sound quality is excellent on these headphones but they just don't seem to fit snugly enough. The arm that clips over the ear comes from a right-angled piece of metal, presumably to cater for the larger ear. Those of us with smaller ears (who bought these headphones because in-ear buds are uncomfortable because of said small ears!) might find they slip off or sit so far away from the ear that everyone can hear what you're listening to.

Relatively comfortable (no bruises!) but just a bit too loose due to the way the arm is attached to the earphone.

"sound ok, but fit terribly" 2010-06-15
By Ms. F. O. Levin (London)
I bought these headphones after reading the reviews about this product, but I have to say I'm disappointed. The clip that you put behind the ear is two big (or I have small ears?!) and doesn't fit properly and when I try to adjust it the headphone is popping out from the clip holder. I can't move very much with the headphones, forget running or even walking with them.

I was much more happy with my previous Philips ones and since I'm not very satisfied with Koss (why all the good reviews?) I'm going back to the old pair. The Philips tangle up easily and you look a bit alien-like with them on, but I give them a 4 star.

The sound in the headphones is alright though, and while sitting still and listening to something, they work ok.

 "value for money!" 2010-06-02
By R. Shaw (North West UK)
Earclips were a lot too big for my ears when I first put them on and, as such, I was very disappointed. HOWEVER, the metal (which is fixed as opposed to a sprung clip) bent pretty easily to fit closer to my (very small) ears. They still felt a bit flappy (the phones mot my ears) so I used a bit of twist-tie to connect the cable from each earpiece under my chin. Looks slightly odd, but less strange than I imagine having flapping earphones would have been.

Result: a pair of phones that I can wear comfortably in the gym or out running for as long as I have wanted to. Great sound quality for my purposes - far superior bass reproduction to my old Philips (£50!) earbuds.

Minus a star for the mods that were required, but can't complain at all for the price.

 "Decent headphones" 2010-01-05
By L. Snizek (UK)
I've had these headphones for a few months now and they're fine.

I have another pair at home which I bought more than 5 years ago, so I have some long term experience too.

In terms of sound quality, the bass is weak, which is probably due to construction of the headphones. It's not really bad at all - I play bass myself and I use these headphones to practice. To me it sounds like it's lacking in sub 40-50Hz range.

I love the way they fold - it collapses into a small ball. The cable is very very thin and the jack is miniature (for iPods and stuff like that). The cable could be 50cm longer I have to say.

Koss' lifetime warranty is awesome - I've used it once when I broke my first UR40 and my retailer simply replaced it.

After few years, the L/R marks will wear out, the aluminium-like finish will become seriously scratched and the outer skin of the foam padding will basically disappear. None of that was a major problem for me.

4 stars

"you get what you pay for" 2009-03-17
By G. Rickard (bristol, england)
although they looked a bit plasticy at first, which i expected as they didn't cost much, the sound quality is superb. the cheap plastic body actually makes the headphones really light, flexible, far from delicate and easy to store and take out and about.

 "Disappointed..." 2008-11-20
By FAMOUS NAME (UNITED KINGDOM)

I bought these whilst searching for Headphones similar to the standard I was used to in the: Sanyo PH 240 model, which had to be replaced because they had stopped making them. (much to my annoyance) I was tempted by the description of these, and persuaded by the name 'Koss', but I was disappointed...

Firstly, they may be lightweight, but this is only due to the fact that they are so 'cheaply' made, but this does not reflect in the price... (my Sanyo were half the price but twice as heavy and durable) After a very short time, all the silver coloured plastic was wearing off (which looked terribly cheap and nasty) along with the lettering of the name 'Koss', and the markings for 'Left' and 'Right ' ear are all but gone...

Regarding the sound; like many Headphones that claim to have great 'bass', much of the 'treble' is lost as a consequence. With the Sanyo Headphones I had, there was both lots of 'bass' but with plenty of 'treble' too, and it's the 'treble' that produces much of the clarity that is lost on these...

But I think the most annoying thing with these, was the terribly short lead - I found it most inadequate, and had to buy an extention as soon as possible!

However, I do use them still, but only for TV where sound quality is not that important. Listening to music with these just irritates me because the quality just isn't there...

 "look nice though..." 2006-11-14
By Mr. Lukman Alhakim Ab Wahid
I'm a music lover and mostly I can say about this item is it sure look nice.Interms of peformance, when you used this headphones, the person next to you will say "Dude, can you turn down the volume??" its about the same when you hear the level of sound on the back of the speaker. Then when you look really carefully you can see that the joinings in't really stiff,ie if you're a kinna person that would be listening to the music at nite before sleep, please don't buy this headphones because even your hand can break it in half.

For the money you invested is not really worthed actually. If you're really2 looking for good sound quality, long lasting, and probably nice design,I might suggest Philips,Sanheiser or Panasonic,OR you might endup writing similar reviews like this.

"Trow away your porta pro; ur 40 knocks everything out!" 2003-09-12
By Erlend Brekke
I have earlier owned koss porta pro. They are among the best portable headphones you can get. The reason for bying ur 40, was that i needed som that could cover my ears for my trips in the woods during wintertime,.,.,., (not really interesting).

But the sound quality and clairity is interesting. It is unbelivable. Put them on, along with your favourite song, and enter heaven... That was how i experienced it. They play extremely clear, and they do at the same time deliver strong and deep bass..

Along with my iriver ipf 390-t, they delivers a lot of power. They allso work well with low priced protable cd-players.

Oh my god,, fantastic.. A lot better than porta pro!!!

And on top of that, they are god to wear. What more can you wish? Run and buy!!!!!!!
