"Headphones" 2010-08-08
By Tom
The headphones are ok for what you pay for. I would buy again in the future.

"Bass makes everything sound ridiculous" 2010-03-21
By Ankur Banerjee (Guildford, UK)
I bought these when I lost a set of Creative in-ear headphones. Given the extremely low price, I thought I'd give these a try. I guess what you pay for. While it's an okay replacement, the fact it adds bass to *everything* - whether it's required or not - seriously spoils the listening experience. To me, it just seems like a gimmicky move to sell a cheap pair of headphones. After a few weeks of use, the foams pads got loose and often kept falling off.
Also, don't make the mistake of registering your product with Philips online. They'll spam you till the end of the earth with 'usability' surveys every now and then. You only need to show the bill at the store you bought it from anyway, in case you want a replacement if something goes wrong.

"Good Value, Good Sound" 2010-02-25
By Darren Prentice (Suffolk, England)
For the price these are very good value. Good tones and sound quality and only very slightly disappointed that the bass didn't live up to expectations. Comfortable fit in the ear and don't keep falling out like some in-ear headphones. The wire is not overly long, but that didn't matter for me personally. Overall I'm happy with them and they do the job.
Pity the person sitting behind me on the bus the other day didn't have these instead of blaring his music out of his speaker phone...!!

"The best u can get for such price" 2010-02-23
By Nikita Kolbasov (Luton, UK)
Perfectly fit into ear. Soft pads for speakers are included into package. Could be a little bit more bass, but it's still alright. I really suggest to buy these headphones for the ones who want to spend less and to get pretty good sound.

"Awesomeness" 2010-01-04
By Amber Britton (Manchester, UK)
I would recommend these earphones for anyone. I've been using these for at least five years after going through dozens of different in ear ones. I was even tempted to splurge for a set of Skullcandy ones, but these are the ones I trust. Yes, they are a tad on the large side and you can't change that, but they fit my ears so I like em! Perfect amount of bass when teh equaliser fails to give me what I need on my iPod. I no longer use the earphones that come with MP3's, I just use these. I've so far converted four friends to these sets and I still will! Although...maybe not from Amazon...cheaper in Clas Ohlson...

"Unacceptable failure rate" 2010-05-18
By Dr. K. M. Holton (UK)
I have had 4 of these and 3 of them no longer work. They are incredibly good for the price and the noise cancellation works very well if you can get a good seal in your ear. I prefer them to my BOSE which is too bulky. When one ear piece stopped working I thought I must have snagged the wire and bought another 2 (I liked it so much at the time I got one for my wife too), but both ear pieces stopped at the same time (in one of them) during a flight and afterwards I dismantled both failed devices and tested the wires - they weren't broken, it is the active device itself that keeps failing, so I couldn't even make up one working one from two halves. Now a third one has gone the same way, I've decided to replace it with a Sony MDRNC33B. Of course this has to last 3 times as long for the same price-to-failure ratio, so if you watch this space... Maybe Philips will read this review and ask me to send the 3 broken ones to them to check as I might just be unlucky. If they didn't keep failing, I would recommend these every time.

"Avoid" 2010-05-17
By 3Lllama (The Netherlands)
I bought these a few years ago and I'm a bit surprised to see them still on the market as they give no active noise cancelling at all (they amplify the signal a bit and add white noise). In addition, Philips tooks months to get back to me and say they weren't going to help.

"Philips in ear noise cancelling headphones." 2009-12-23
By Mr. T. O. Pardy (Broadstone, UK)
I bought these to replace my earlier broken (I stepped on the wire and ripped it out of the control bit) Philips headphones which are no longer available and which I would have rated as five star. The reason I give the new ones four stars is because the old ones had textile coverings on the wires and these have got normal plastic and the wires get in a tangle. Otherwise they are just as good at noise cancelling and the sound quality is good.

"Diasastrous" 2009-08-21
By M. Gillie (UK)
I bought these to wear while walking the dog (traffic noise) and cycling (ditto). I know they are advertised as for aeroplanes, but I assumed they would work just as well elsewhere.
What a mis-calculation. The control unit, unlike my previous pair of active noise cancellers, is bulky, and, horror of horrors, has no clip on it. It cannot be attached to your clothing. No problem you might say, just bung it in a pocket.
But, crucially, the cable from the earphones to the control unit is only long enough to let it dangle halfway down your chest, where it promptly pulls the earpieces out with its bulk.
These really are only useful if you are sitting down, and can plonk the contrrol unit in your lap.
I bought a pair of creative passive noise cancellers after 24 hours.

"Amplifier or Noise Canceller" 2009-07-23
By J. Golding (UK)
The in ear head phones are very comfortable, with good sound quality, however when you switch on the noise cancelling you just seem to get a boost in volume and no Relief from surrounding noise. Other head phones i have tried make a real difference, these don't seem to... i plan to do a more intensive test next time i take a flight. :O)
