If you are unsure if your camera's sensor needs cleaning a simple test is to take a photo of a white background or fairly bright sky with a small aperture i.e f22 and then study the results on your PC by zooming in to around 300 % and looking around the image for black spots. If you see any it's very likely there is dust on your sensor and it may require cleaning.
